Aged between 15 and 25 and like film? Discover the activities for young audiences at the Punto de Vista festival
01/09/2023

The Jóvenes Programadores Moving Cinema x Punto de Vista (Young Programmers Moving Cinema x Punto de Vista) scheme and the Youth Jury are two unique ways to enjoy the festival from within

This year once again young audiences are to have a special space at Punto de Vista. As well as the chance to enjoy the whole programme with accreditation of their own, the festival offers two ways of getting close to its organisers, aimed at people aged from 15 to 25. The first of these is Jóvenes Programadores Moving Cinema x Punto de Vista (Young Programmers x Punto de Vista), for people from 15 to 19 years old to learn how to programme and present a film at a festival. The second is the Youth Jury (18 to 25 years old), which will award the Youth Prize for Best Film after watching the full official section of the festival.

If you fall into these age brackets and you like film or you know someone who might be interested, don't hesitate - we're looking forward to hearing from you!

The schemes aimed at young audiences are supported by the Navarra Youth Institute. Also, Youth Card holders travelling from outside Pamplona to take part in the Youth Jury can apply for assistance in paying for transport and accommodation costs.

Jóvenes Programadores Moving Cinema x Punto de Vista (Young Programmers Moving Cinema x Punto de Vista), age 15-19

Jóvenes Programadores Moving Cinema x Punto de Vista (Young Programmers By Punto de Vista) appeared in 2022, when a group of people learned to programme films at a festival and met the director of the film they chose, De chaque instant by Nicolas Philibert, and finally presented this to the audience as part of last year's festival. The experience was a success, so we're doing it again in 2023.

To this end, three sessions will be organised at Civivox Condestable by the A Bao A Qu* cultural association, for the group to watch a series of short films by people involved in the X Films project (candidate, jury or winning film makers), talk to them and finally programme an actual screening, to be held during the week of the festival. Also, on the day of the screening the participants who want to will be able to present the film or films they have chosen to the audience and will have the chance to meet the X Films directors.

A real experience to meet people with the same interests as you, which is sure to be highly enriching. In addition, the people taking part will get accreditation to enjoy the full Punto de Vista programme and get to know the festival from inside with its organisers.

This initiative will be organised within the European project Moving Cinema, led by A Bao A Qu since 2014, with many years of experience in contact with a range of festivals in Spain (Festival de Cine de Sevilla, D’A Film Festival and l’Alternativa) and other European countries (including BelDocs in Serbia, Kino Otok in Slovenia and Vilnius Film Festival in Lituania).

*A Bao A Qu is a cultural association founded in 2004 specifically dedicated to projects that link creation and education, involving children and young people, creators (filmmakers, photographers, artists...) and teachers. Among the programs developed by the association are "Cinema in progress", "Photography in progress", "Creators in residence in Barcelona high schools" and the European projects "Moving Cinema" and "CinEd".

Youth Jury (age 18 to 25)

Like every year, young people from all over Spain will make up the Youth Jury. This is a group of around 20 people who will watch the whole official section in the mornings during the festival (27th March to 1st April), to discuss them and together choose the Youth Prize for Best Film. The Youth Jury itself will present this award at the festival closing gala, to be held on Saturday 1st April at Baluarte, Pamplona.

The people taking part will get accreditation to enjoy the full Punto de Vista programme, and the organisers will prepare an itinerary of recommendations and selected meetings with attendees, accredited visitors and guests at the festival.

Furthermore, Punto de Vista has reached an agreement with the Navarra Youth Institute, through the latter's European Youth Card in Europe programme so that holders of these cards from anywhere in Europe can travel to Pamplona during the week of the festival, with their accommodation and part of their travel costs from their home city or country covered. Find out more here.

Free registration until Monday 27th February, available here. Once the registration period has ended, Punto de Vista will select the profiles to make up the Youth Jury for this year's edition.
