Film screenings, meetings with film-makers, round tables and film sessions for families to take place in Pamplona from 11th to 16th March.

Punto de Vista, the international documentary film festival of Navarre, to be held in Pamplona from 11th to 16th March, has placed on sale tickets for all sessions at the festival on its website and at the Baluarte box office. Standard tickets will cost 3 euros per session, except for some that are free.

For six days, Punto de Vista is at the epicentre of the international audiovisual community, with several venues: Baluarte, Cines Golem, Museo Oteiza, Civivox Condestable, Civivox Mendillorri and Filmoteca de Navarra. Film screenings, meetings with film-makers, round tables, documentary film sessions for families and the Official Selection are to take place at different venues around the city, with most of the programme at Baluarte.

New this year is the idea of a series of tracks - First Person, Gender(s), Sick Planet and Come Along to Punto de Vista - that cut across the different sections. These are collections that move throughout the programme to link films involving the same issues, or in the latter case an invitation to discover the festival for the first time. The interest of these tracks lies not only in the synthesis they offer, but also in the diversity they open up. Questions related to memory and individualism, to the divisions created by inequalities within our species and to the environmental emergency are all highlighted in very different ways according to how the different films imagine them.

This Punto de Vista is organised in six sections: the Official Selection, which features a total of twenty-three films from fifteen countries; Focos, monographic sessions where Punto de Vista focuses on film-makers on the international scene — Su Friedrich (USA) and Joël Akafou (Ivory Coast — as well as a series programmed by Miriam Martín that explores the place of trees in documentary film; the Mediation Programme, which continues to open up the festival to audiences from all over the city, especially younger ones; Lan (Basque for "work"), which generates spaces for reflection about creation and production in documentary film; Contactos, which aims to connect film to other disciplines and features the figures of Jerome Hiler and Néstor Basterretxea; and the X Films project, which this year invites Celia Viada Caso as a film-maker to shoot a film in Navarre and premieres Tránsitos, a personal view of the Sanfermines festivities by Anna López Luna, filmed in Super 8.

Alongside all this, throughout the week the programme includes a series of concerts, DJ sessions and radio programmes with live performances to encourage musical talent, featuring artists like Mon Dvy, Brecha, Lilo, Peru Galbete, DJ Rizos, Señora and DJ Moderno. These activities are supported by the Navarra Music Commission, the bar Txintxarri and Radio 3.

Moreover, the festival once again sets out to be family-friendly, with the Red Balloon Punto de Vista play scheme. This offers both the general public and accredited festival attendees a place for children between six months and twelve years old, from Wednesday 13th March in the afternoon to Saturday 16th. Places can be booked now on the website.
