It will include two workshops for children, a family session in partnership with Pamplona Planetarium, two sessions with high school students at the Filmoteca de Pamplona, the overhaul and expansion of the Young Programmers scheme at Civivox and three sessions in partnership with UPNA and UNAV (Faculty of Communication and Museum of the University of Navarre).
The Punto de Vista festival (Pamplona-Iruña, 20th - 25th April) announces Txinparta, a section that sets out to stimulate curiosity and a desire to watch, aimed at young and family audiences. Like the bright little particle that leaps up when you light a fire —txinparta is Basque for spark— this scheme replaces the old mediation Programme, broadening its scope and reinforcing its aim of building a community in Pamplona through workshops, screenings and meeting film-makers.
Txinparta is organised in five lines of work: two children's workshops, a session for families that will connect film with astronomy, screenings and meetings at universities, sessions for secondary schools and the consolidation of Jóvenes Programadores Moving Cinema x Punto de Vista. A network of activities to bring film to all audiences as a shared experience, a place for experimentation and a tool for thinking. With Txinparta, the festival seeks to provide a setting that cuts across ages and venues: from playing with celluloid by hand to academic thinking, from the family immersive experience to discussion about memory, migration and artistic creativity. A firm commitment to train new points of view and help future generations to discover film as a living territory.
Txinparta will therefore be hosting two children's workshops run by Tekno Fantasy: Fantastic Objects, on Friday 24th April at Civivox Pompelo for children aged 6 to 9, and Animation without a Camera, on Saturday 25th at Civivox Mendillorri for children aged 9 to 12. That same Saturday at 11am, the Baluarte Chamber Hall will host a film and astronomy session for families in collaboration with Pamplona Planetarium. In the university sphere, the University of Navarre Museum, through the Faculty of Communication, will host the screenings of Letter to the Editor and BENITA on 20th and 21st April at 12 noon, in the presence of their director Alan Berliner, a key figure in documentary film-making who returns to Pamplona after participating on several occasions in both Punto de Vista and the previous festivals that gave rise to it; while on 22nd April at 12 noon, the UPNA will host an illustrated lecture by Celia Viada Caso on the process of documenting and creating her X Films project, released last year, Volver a casa tan tarde, which has won multiple awards this year. Also, on Friday 24th April the Filmoteca de Navarra will be holding two sessions with upper and lower secondary students, screening Les Voyageurs, to stimulate a discussion about migration with its director, David Bingong. Finally, once again this year Jóvenes Programadores Moving Cinema x Punto de Vista extends an invitation for a group of people from 16 to 20 years old to plunge into the process of festival programming, with a real experience in a festival session to take place at Civivox Condestable on Friday 24th April. This programme, which Punto de Vista has been hosting for four years and will be facilitated by film-maker Patxi Burillo, is expanding this year to encourage the group of young people to carry on coming up with ideas and running sessions throughout the year, thanks to the festival's collaboration with Filmoteca de Navarra and the Civivox network, which will include them in their programming for the coming academic year.
TXINPARTA 2026 PROGRAMME
1. WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN AT CIVIVOX (6 - 12 YEARS OLD)
This workshop proposes the construction and exploration of two devices to discover the basic principles of animation. First, the Toupi Fantoche, a predecessor of cinema that allows the viewer to watch an animation through a pyramid of mirrors; and second, a mini multiplane with which to create in-depth animations on the basis of drawings and cutouts. The workshop will be given by the Tekno Fantasy collective, a space for experimentation with lights, projection and analogue devices set up in 2023 and linked to the event organised at Tabakalera (Donostia-San Sebastián).
Practical information:
Friday 24th April at 5.30pm at Civivox Pompelo. Aimed at children from 6 to 9 years old. Enrolment though the channels of the Civivox network.
An invitation to work at first hand with 16 mm film: drawing, making holes, scraping and painting on celluloid, exploring historical techniques for animation without a camera. This workshop, also created by Tekno Fantasy, culminates in the projection of the pieces made, to show how image and sound come into dialogue when both of them are created by hand.
Practical information:
Saturday 25th April at Civivox Mendillorri. Aimed at children from 9 to 12 years old. Enrolment though the channels of the Civivox network.
In partnership with the Pamplona Planetarium, Punto de Vista is offering a session focused on imagination as the driving force behind great astronomical discoveries, in the year that Navarre will experience a total solar eclipse on 12th August. Following the screening of the short films Solar Walk and Home Away 3000, audience members aged 6 to 12 will be able to enjoy an immersive experience in a dome and learn the secrets of the upcoming eclipse, as well as taking part in games and activities for the whole family.
