The festival will participate in this holistic fair with an international vocation which will be held in Pamplona on 15th and 16th November

The Navarra International Documentary Film Festival - Punto de Vista will be represented, along with other programmes backed by the Cultural Action Service of the General Department for Culture - Príncipe de Viana Institution –DNA, Ancient Music Week or Olite Theatre Festival – in the first edition of 948 merkatua, Navarra Arts Market, a holistic fair with an international vocation which will be held in Pamplona on 15th and 16th November.

948 merkatua, Navarra Arts Market, is a fair of fairs focusing on the following disciplines: performing arts (theatre, dance, circus…), music, publishing of books, albums and other media, plastic and visual arts and other creative and cultural industries (artistic prototypes, fashion, design, architecture and new professions).

In this first 2017 edition (Edition 0), 948 merkatua, Navarra Arts Market, aims to showcase the products from the professional field of Navarra culture to distributors and other types of agents from neighbouring communities and provinces (Aragon, Basque Country, La Rioja and Aquitania) as well as specialised agents from other regions and fields (Festivals, centres, artistic and creation entities...).

In the medium term, as of 2018, 948 merkatua aims to become a reference as a strategic arts market in the Euro region: Basque Country-Navarra-New Aquitaine and a facilitator for the flow and exchange of cultural products between countries and regions. It will be open to cultural agents from France and Spain.

The period for professionals and journalists to obtain accreditation for 948 merkatua will close on 8th November. Registrations can be carried out via the fair’s new website (948merkatua.com), where all the information on the fair can be found in four languages: Spanish, Basque, French and English.

Accreditations for professionals have a promotional rate for the 2 days of the fair of 50 Euros, if requested prior to 15th October, and 90 Euros as of 16th October. In the case of professionals from Navarra, the price is 30 Euros until 15th October and 50 Euros after this date.

Accreditation as a professional at 948 merkatua offers free access to the opening event; special 948 merkatua rates in accommodation and transport; entry to Baluarte (training laboratory, stands area, itineraries of presentations, artist pitches and networking area); exhibition and shows at the Gayarre Theatre, Navarra Theatre School, Navarra Film Library, Ciudadela, Zentral and other spaces, upon prior reservation and depending on availability; catalogue of artistic and creative proposals; list of accredited professionals who have authorised the sharing of their data; certificate of attendance at the fair.

948 merkatua, Navarra Arts Market, also offers promotions to groups, as well as a service to design personalised itineraries for visitors to the fair.

Development of 948 merkatua

The activity of 948 merkatua, Navarra Arts Market, will be spread out between a dozen venues in Pamplona and its region, organised in accordance with the different artistic disciplines. Over the two days of the fair, the programme will be organised in three different formats: exhibition of the cultural offer, stands area for the presentation of the cultural offer and a proactive market with meeting points.

The exhibition of the cultural offer will host theatre and dance performances, music, film screenings, book presentations, etc. These performances will be open to the general public and will take place in the afternoon/evening of Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th November in venues adapted to the different proposals.
