Punto de Vista Collection
Oskar Alegria, director of Emak Bakia baita/La casa Emak Bakia (screening on Wednesday 20), is presenting a very special exhibition. Opening tomorrow, this exhibition shows some of the objects found during the shooting of the film – items going from the screen to the display cabinet to create an additional space for the documentary.
Tomorrow, Tuesday the 19th, a new edition of Punto de Vista will start, Punto de Vista 8. Now, after being an International Seminar last year, it’s back to festival shape, with a programme that will help audiences wonder about and reflect on the world around them.
The 8th Punto de Vista Festival, being held in Pamplona as of 19 February, will officially begin with As Canções, the latest film by one of our guest stars this year: Brazilian filmmaker Eduardo Coutinho. The Festival’s closing event will be the screening of Dime quién era Sanchicorrota, Jorge Tur’s first feature film, winner of the X Films Project 2012.
The Spanish premiere of Invisible, the first feature film by Basque director Víctor Iriarte, is the last special session scheduled by Punto de Vista to draw attention to films and filmmakers that may make good introductions to non-fiction film, combining experimental techniques with high-risk narratives.
Tickets for Punto de Vista sessions will be available for sale from Saturday 9 February. Session tickets are €4, and there is a ticket package (five sessions) for €15. All the sessions will take place at the Saide Carlos III Cinema Theatres, except for Processes and special events, to be held at Civivox Condestable. This will also be the venue of the exhibition Emak Bakia: Objects Found, and the closing ceremony on Sunday 24. Free tickets for the opening ceremony, on Tuesday 19 at 8.00pm, can be picked up at the box office one hour before.
