NEWS
José Antonio Maenza will be the star of Heterodocsias, the space that Punto de Vista dedicates to the least known films in our country. This section, which will be called ¡Maenza existe! (Maenza exists!) in 2016, in reference to his Teruel origins, will screen the three films made by this artist from Aragon: El lobby contra el cordero (1967-68), Orfeo en el campo de batalla (1968-1969) and Hortensia/Beancé(1969).
Two full-length films programmed within the themed retrospective that Punto de Vista will devote to Time, under the title of Ten Years Older, will open and close the 10th edition of the Navarra festival: The Blue Planet, by Franco Piavoli from Italy, who will visit Pamplona to present the film; and Vita Brevis, by the Belgian filmmaker, Thierry Knauff, who will also be present to close the event at its final gala.
Antje Ehmann from Germany, Claire Simon from Britain, Javier H. Estrada from Spain, Luis Ospina from Colombia and Maria Bonsanti from Italy will be the members of the International Jury of this tenth anniversary edition of the Punto de Vista Festival. The main jury will evaluate the 17 films that are competing in this year’s Official Section - The Central Region (9 full-length films and 8 short films) and will grant three awards: the Punto de Vista Award for the Best Film, the Jean Vigo Award for the Best Director and the Award for Best Short Film. This International Jury is joined by the Youth Jury, who will present the Youth Award for the Best Film and the public who will do the same with their People’s Choice Award for the Best Film. Furthermore, Claire Simon and Luis Ospina will be present in the programming of the 10th edition of Punto de Vista with special sessions of their latest films: The Woods Dreams are Made Of and It All Started at the End.
Punto de Vista continues its campaign to attract volunteers for the 10th edition to carry out the following tasks during the festival: cinema assistants, press and communication staff, provide services and information for guests and the general public.
