La apropiación en el cine documental y experimental
Since its second edition, the Navarra Documentary Film Festival has published a series of volumes that now make the Punto de Vista Collection, related to some of the festival’s sections. This year, the retrospective "he Afterlife of Images will be complemented by the book Metraje encontrado: La apropiación en el cine documental y experimental [Found Footage: Appropriation in Experimental and Documentary Film], by Antonio Weinrichter.
The book reviews the two main film movements involving montage: compilation documentaries and found footage films. It analyses the uses of montage from Soviet and Nazi propaganda to modern compilation movies and comments on the uses of found footage appropriation in both conventional and experimental film.
