Maddi Barber. Spain. 2020. 22'
Entrails, a flock of sheep, one spring. The cooing of doves and songs hummed. Some vultures, bones, flowers and many hands. Hands which feed, milk, stroke, shear, film; hands that kill. Hands which inhabit the doubts and contradictions about using other species.
Maddi graduated in Audiovisual Communication and has a master’s degree in Visual Anthropology from the University of Manchester. Her latest works, "592 metroz goiti" and "Urpean Lurra", portray the land affected by the Itoiz reservoir and have been screened at festivals which include Visions du Réel, San Sebastián, Curtocircuíto, Alcances, Porto/Post/Doc, L'Alternativa and Las Palmas. In 2019 she won the Punto de Vista X Films project, which allowed her to make "Gorria".
