A personal reinterpretation of a route hidden by society, that of the roadside brothels in Navarra.
Xiana do Teixeiro (Lugo, 1982) is a documentary film-maker and visual artist, joint founder of the indie production company Walkie Talkie Films (2008), with which she has made cultural and social documentaries for television. From 2013 onwards, Xiana began to film her most experimental work: “Clipos”, short films ranging from music videos to video essays and video art, all sharing some aesthetic features and a lo-fi approach. In late 2013 she presented her most complex film so far, “Vacacions”, a portrayal of social rituals shot in Galicia, where the director spent her childhood. From 2013 she worked on a research and production project which came to fruition in 2015, “Proyecto D”, resulting in an experimental film about adolescence and an intimate feminine narrative coordinated together with Carla Calleja. Xiana combines her experiments in audiovisual fiction with research work (she has a doctorate in Audiovisual Communication and Advertising) and music (The Adaptation Band, TA!).
