Xiana Gómez Díaz

Xiana Gómez Díaz (Lugo, 1982) is a documentary maker and visual artist, co-founder of the indie production company, Walkie Talkie Films (2008), with which she has made cultural and social documentaries for television. In 2013, Xiana began to shoot her first experimental works: Clips, short films ranging from musical videos to al video-essay and video-art, which share some aesthetic features and a lo-fi proposal. At the end of 2013, she presented her most complex film to date, Vacacions, a portrayal of social rituals filmed in Galicia, where the director spent her childhood. Since 2013, she has worked on a research and production project which will be released in 2015, Proyecto D, leading to an experimental film on adolescence and an intimate female tale in conjunction with Carla Calleja. Xiana combines her audiovisual fiction experiments with research work (she is a Doctor in Audiovisual Communication and Advertising) and music (The Adaptation Band, TA!).
