Sinopsis
This piece is based on the sculptural work, The Fourteen Apostles of Arantzazu, and on the poem, Androcanto y Sigo by Jorge Oteiza. It is an interpretation of the work by this artist, through dance and poetry, in which the core concept is the idea of the emptiness of the material. The body is a sculpting material and poetic language, a ballet of bodies creating spaces to fill them with spirituality. The poem becomes the support for movement, in a visual narration filled with symbolism: the blades of grass symbolise obstacles, dogmas, intransigence that passes through the empty space. The stone symbolises the sculptor’s material to carve the creation. The Apostles lying down symbolise the years of waiting for the work on the road to Arantzazu. The ballet of the Apostles, now on the frieze, represents the movement of union in cooperativeness, in diversity, in a joint effort opening search spaces. The empty spaces are the exit.
