Gatten explores the ways in which texts work as language and image on the basis of 27 principles, split up into three categories, relying on the books and notes of Evelyn and William Byrd, Athanasius Kircher, Wittgenstein, Marey and da Vinci. To do this, he uses sticky tape, boiled paper, mirrors, sand, oil and glass.
